I’m Mattia, an Italian photographer based in Rome.
I grew up here, between an Italian and Colombian culture, in a family where presence mattered more than appearance. I think that stayed with me.
I’ve never been particularly drawn to perfect things.
Perfect often feels distant, controlled, easy to forget.
I’m more interested in what feels real, even when it’s subtle, imperfect, or quiet.

Outside of photography, I spend a lot of time doing things slowly.
Cooking, working with film, building things step by step.
I like understanding how something is made, not just how it looks in the end.
That process keeps things grounded for me. I’m also deeply inspired by cinema, design, and places.
The way light moves through a space, the way a moment holds its own atmosphere without needing to be forced.
I notice small shifts, the way people look at each other, the energy of a room when nothing obvious is happening. Most of what matters is usually there.
I don’t think of what I do as creating moments.
They already exist.
I just try to be present enough not to miss them.
I’m not interested in making things look better than they were, only in making sure they’re felt again.
I tend to observe more than I speak.
At the same time, I know when to step in.
Not to change anything, but to make sure you feel at ease, so nothing feels forced or out of place. The goal is always the same: images that feel natural, but still refined.
I’m usually a good fit for people who care about how things feel
just as much as how they look.
People who value atmosphere, connection, and a certain sense of simplicity, even within something carefully designed.
